Preschool Philosophy

We believe that each child is an individual created by God, with individual needs, interests, background and abilities.  At Christ Love Preschool, just as Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me,” we strive to meet the needs, stimulate the interests, build on the background and develop the abilities God has given each individual child.

Needs

Our goal is to meet the physical, social, spiritual, intellectual and emotional needs of each child while he/she is in our care.  We will provide a safe, happy, stimulating Christian atmosphere to facilitate the development of self-control, self-direction, and a positive self-image for each child, which sets a foundation for Christian growth.

Interests

We will provide materials and activities to strengthen and satisfy old interests as well as develop new ones.  Children will participate in hands-on activities in order to learn by doing.  Daily prayer, Bible stories, weekly worship time and a weekly music class will be incorporated into the program on an age-appropriate level.

Background

We realize that each child’s background is unique and special.  It is our plan to develop close ties with parents and siblings, learning all we can from them so that we may better understand the child, his/her needs, and his/her interests.

Abilities

As we strive to meet the needs of each child, we will take into consideration his/her individual abilities and developmental levels.  It is our desire to provide activities and materials, which will enable each child to progress at his/her own rate.  We will start where the child is and take each one as far as he/she is able to go.

ADMINISTRATOR | TEACHERS | CHURCH and COMMUNITY

At Christ Love Preschool, we strive to maintain the highest quality of care for all our children.  In order to accomplish our goal, we hire experienced, qualified administrators and teachers that enjoy working with children.  Our staff is encouraged to continue their education through college-level early childhood education classes, workshops, evaluations, educational materials, and resources provided by the center.  Teachers and classrooms are monitored daily by administrators.  Trained administrators assist teachers with weekly lesson planning and classroom development.

Our center operates under the auspices of Christ United Methodist Church.  A weekday childcare board comprised of the church pastor, church Christian educator, church members and board chair.  This board meets quarterly. We also work with other agencies that give hands-on training to classroom teachers and administrators.  The local library sends volunteers to read to our children biweekly and provides books monthly for the classrooms.  The church’s Christian educator provides an age appropriate worship experience in the sanctuary.  Church and parent volunteers are encouraged to help at the center.  Volunteers are coordinated through our administrators.
