Weaverville Senior Meal Site

The second week of each month, volunteers from CUMC transport lunch from The Moose Cafe to First Baptist Church in Weaverville for the Senior Meal Site** which meets Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 12 PM. Supported by funding and volunteers from Weaverville churches and businesses, Council on Aging, and DSS.  This program provides fellowship, activities, education and a meal daily on weekdays year round for seniors in our community.

ABCCM NORTH

Christ UMC supports ABCCM North, an arm of Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry, with ongoing funding each year and volunteers. ABCCM provides shelter, counseling, medical supplies and medical care, food, clothing, money for utility bills, medications and heating costs for those in need in Buncombe County. Donations of food by a local grocery is picked up weekly by volunteers and delivered to ABCCM North

Girl Scouts of America

Missionary Support  

A Christmas Eve Service love offering is sent to missionaries supported by CUMC. Currently we support missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators.  For more than 75 years, Wycliffe has helped people around the world translate the Bible into their own languages.Today, at least 2,000 languages still need a Bible translation started, and Wycliffe is working faster than ever to reach those languages as soon as possible.  You can learn more at www.wycliffe.org

Emmaus Community

Christ UMC takes an active part in the Blue Ridge Emmaus Community by sponsoring participants and serving on teams. Everyone is encouraged to take part.

Alpha Outreach

Through Alpha Courses (Alpha Basic Course and Alpha Marriage Course) offered to the community, everyone is given an opportunity to come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior and live in relationship with God and one another.
